Description
Seasonal weeks, special events, and schedule changes can make it harder to keep students focused without relying on activities that feel like filler. These Would You Rather questions for students combine movement, decision-making, writing, and guided SEL discussion in 11 seasonal write the room activities for grades 3–6.
Unlike Would You Rather activities built around random or silly choices, these prompts ask students to consider realistic social decisions connected to classroom situations, friendships, and everyday routines. Students practice kindness, empathy, gratitude, responsibility, emotional regulation, perspective-taking, and problem-solving while explaining their reasoning and listening to different points of view.
The bundle includes 264 Would You Rather task cards that can be used throughout the school year. Each seasonal set follows the same familiar structure, making it easy to introduce a new theme without teaching an entirely new activity.
Seasonal SEL Activities Included

More Than Choosing Between Two Options
Students do more than circle A or B. Depending on the response sheet you select, they may also restate their choice, explain their reasoning, consider possible outcomes, and think about why another student might make a different decision.
This added reflection helps students practice communicating their ideas respectfully while recognizing that someone can see a situation differently without being wrong.
Three Differentiated Response Options
Each seasonal activity includes three student response sheets:
- Circle Only: A quick, low-writing option
- Circle and Quick Write: Students restate the option they selected
- Circle, Quick Write, and Reflection: Students explain the reasoning behind their decision
Choose one response format for the entire class or provide different options based on students’ writing abilities, support needs, or the amount of time available.
Guided SEL Discussions
Each set also includes 10 open-ended SEL discussion questions. These questions help students:
- Explain the reasoning behind their choices
- Consider the benefits and challenges of both options
- Listen to different perspectives
- Connect the situations to their own experiences
- Discuss kindness, responsibility, empathy, and respectful decision-making
The discussion component turns the activity into a structured opportunity to practice social reasoning and communication rather than simply completing a movement activity.
