Description
St. Patrick’s Day Appropriate vs Inappropriate Behavior Worksheets & Sorting Activities
Seasonal classroom activities often bring excitement, changes in routine, and opportunities for students to practice making appropriate social choices. These St. Patrick’s Day appropriate vs inappropriate behavior worksheets give students structured practice thinking through behavior choices they may encounter at school, at home, and in the community.
Students cut out 12 St. Patrick’s Day social situations in each activity and sort them according to the behavior shown. After sorting, they select one inappropriate behavior, explain why it may cause a problem, and consider a more appropriate response.
An alternate expected vs unexpected behavior version is also included, allowing you to choose the terminology that works best for your students, school, or program.
Practice Social Expectations Through Seasonal Situations
Students may be able to repeat a rule without recognizing how it applies in a real situation. These sorting activities provide specific examples students can examine, compare, and discuss.
The scenarios help students practice:
- Identifying appropriate and inappropriate behavior
- Recognizing expected and unexpected behavior
- Applying expectations during seasonal activities
- Thinking about how behavior affects other people
- Explaining why a choice may create a problem
- Identifying a more appropriate response
The reflection question moves the activity beyond simply sorting examples. Students must explain their reasoning, helping you determine whether they understand the social expectation instead of relying on a correct guess.
Two Terminology Options Are Included
Every activity is provided in two versions:
- Appropriate vs Inappropriate Behavior
- Expected vs Unexpected Behavior
Both versions contain the same 60 unique scenarios. You can select the terminology that fits your setting without purchasing or preparing a separate resource.

A Purposeful St. Patrick’s Day SEL Activity
A St. Patrick’s Day activity can provide seasonal interest while still addressing meaningful social-emotional skills. These St. Patrick’s Day behavior activities reinforce social awareness, problem-solving, and appropriate responses instead of serving as unrelated filler.
You can use the activities during:
